NO ONE IS PERMITTED ONTO THE PROPERTY UNLESS

AN APPOINTMENT IS MADE BEFOREHAND.

There is an indemnity form that requires completion before any activity is undertaken on this property.

RIDING LESSONS

All Riding Lessons must be booked and payment made at the time of booking.  We allow the taking of credit card details to be held in lue of payment until the day of lesson(s) when payment in cash or cheque can be made.

NOTE: People who book and do not turn up at the appropriate time will forfeit the cost of a lesson and the bankcard payment will be processed at the full cost of the lesson.  Cancellation of lessons within 24 hours can be accepted for emergency reasons only.   Weather permitting all lessons (and rides) will commence on time on the day.  If weather is poor and a lesson is booked then “horsemanship” (which is part of the training) will be held on that day (days).

Bridle Trail

The bridle trail covers an area larger than 100 acres.  A set trail marked by street names and recreational areas has been created.  We have kept the area a natural as possible.  Even though there is no metal or timber rail fence you will be asked to stay on the appropriate trail designated for you.  That way there should not be a conflict with any other party.  It is designed to give a relaxing ride through open grasslands and some forested areas.  There are picnic areas within the property (part of some trails).

Note: Light rain does not stop our activities. The bridle trail is for experienced horse riders only.  Family walks with donkies or ponies being led is a wonderful experience. As the bridal trail is not a trail ride are and is not used as a race track the experience can be shared with other equestrian activities. Come with your family or friends (or by yourself).  If you don’t have experience then you may use the trail whilst having a safety lead rope attached to the horse and having one of the staff walk with you.

Safety

At any time that you enter upon our property you (and family or friends) will be asked to act responsibly.  We wish that all visitors be they riders, students, farmstay guests or organized groups that they consider the safety of others.  We want everyone to have a good time without the confrontation of poor behaviour or suffer from the disobedience of other children. Parents will be asked to control their children especially when near the farm or native animals.

Upon arrival you will be asked to sign an indemnity form.  The form clearly states the liability terms of visitation or riding lessons.  The indemnity form is an agreement that shall be legally binding upon the visitor.  If the visitor is a minor or mentally impaired the legal guardians of the visitor must be responsible.

Risk

Joint human and Farm/Native animal activity is not without risk.   There is always a risk of  personal injury to anyone who behaves without care or consideration.  The results could be permanent disablement or death in extreme cases.  Many farm animals are very strong.  They have wills of their own, (they act on instinct).  Horses can be trained, but the behavior of individual horses cannot always be predicted or anticipated.  Other farm animals have even less training and therefore are sometimes even less predictable.  The aggravation of native animals, in particular, snakes must be avoided.

Snakes

Do not go near snakes.  They are rarely seen locally but if one is seen stand still or walk away.  The same applies for large lizards (Goanna).   They are generally inoffensive animals and will normally avoid humans.  Report any sightings to staff.  - Do not approach any snake or large lizzard.

First Aid and Damages

The Establishment has first aid treatment available for injuries and will arrange for riders to receive, or be transported for medical treatment in urgent circumstances as soon as possible. All accidents or personal injury or loss or damage to property must be reported to the Establishment representatives before leaving the property.  If this is not possible due to injury, such report must be made in writing within 14 days thereafter and all claims must be made within 12 months of the injury, loss or damage.  Any claim not made within the 12 month period will be waived.

Behavioral Problems

All visitors must obey all signs displayed on the property and obey all instructions by the Establishment representatives. The Establishment reserves the right to refuse any person  participation in any activity whilst on the premises on the basis of a disclosed impairment or behavioral problems.
